Four Course guitar in the style of Giovanni Smit 1646. This is a scaled up version of the Chitarrino made by Smit which is found in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. This example has ebony vaulted back and sides with holly spacers. The neck is decorated with an ebony and holly chevron design. The top and neck and headstock are decorated with bone and ebony triangle borders. Sunken parchment rosette.  Scale length 510mm. Cost of building this instrument £2,700
